Prayer brings breakthrough. In 2 Samuel 5:20 “David defeated them there. And he said, “The Lord has burst through my enemies before me like a bursting flood.”
In August, 2012 we discovered that the City of Toronto had presented a new by-law that is effectively removing all zoning for new churches, only allowing permits in very expensive commercial zones, in less than 2% of the city. We called you to pray and God has heard our prayers.
Yesterday the City Planning Department issued a notice with a new draft zoning proposal allowing places of worship in over 80% of the city, including most residential and commercial zones plus office-industrial areas, from 2% to 80%, Praise God.
I want to thank you for all of your efforts, calls and prayers. This is a miraculous breakthrough. When I first called the City officials I told them we were going to pray and oppose their plan to ban new churches they literally laughed at me. Three thousand years ago the enemy laughed at David, in the same manner. God showed up and gave him victory over Goliath and many others.
The same God has heard our prayers, defeated the enemy, the Lord has burst through our enemies like a bursting flood. God is alive and well in Toronto. This is a breakthrough, but more work is needed. The planners have presented this new plan, however it still must be approved by the City Council. Also, more than 50% of new churches established in the past 15 years are located in light industrial zones.
We need to believe for those areas to also be approved. I ask you to do three things. 1. Call City Planners and Committee Members, thank them and ask them to allow churches in light industrial areas.

We were to have freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

Fundamental Freedoms
Freedom of religion
Freedom of religion is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or community, in public or private, to manifest religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship, and observance; the concept is generally recognized also to include the freedom to change religion or not to follow any religion.
Freedom of thought, belief
‘Freedom of thought’ is the derivative of and thus is closely linked to other liberties: freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of expression. It is a very important concept in the western world and nearly all democratic constitutions protect these freedoms.
freedom of peaceful assembly
Freedom of assembly, sometimes used nterchangeably with the freedom of association, is the individual right to come together and collectively express, promote, pursue and defend common interests. The right to freedom of association is recognized as a human right, political right, and civil liberty.
